AT6’s Value to Clients, from Our Writer’s Perspective

This is a different kind of blog post from the ones you’re used to reading on this blog. While I’m a writer that works with AT6, you never hear from me directly—I take the information I learn from AT6 team members and clients and create blogs that speak from their perspectives. But today I’m writing from mine.

I have an unusual window into AT6’s work—I talk with clients after their projects are complete and they’ve lived in them for a while. They’ve had time to settle into all the elements of the design and make the space their home. This is where theory and ideas have given way to daily reality. And what I hear repeatedly about their homes from this place of everyday life is delight. There are three themes that recur in all my conversations with AT6’s clients: stunning design; valuable guidance and meticulous project management; and thorough satisfaction with the results. Quotes I’ve pulled from multiple client interviews illustrate the story best.

1. Design That Exceeds the Clients’ Expectations

AT6’s design pulls older homes into modern times, finding the balance between the clients’ creative expression and the home’s stylistic legacy. I’ve spoken with clients in big and small homes, with different project scopes, and their happiness with the results is consistent.

“The house feels homier and warmer than you would expect a house this size to feel. The flow among the rooms is fantastic. Natural light is incredibly important to me, and I love all the windows, the accordion doors, the indoor-outdoor living on both floors. The home has a modern but timeless feel to it in every way.” — Angela, Mill Valley

“Having never lived in the house, we were concerned we would make design decisions and they wouldn’t work at all. That hasn’t proven to be the case. Not only is the design stunning, but the ergonomics of the kitchen, how it looks, the lighting in the evening—it’s a joy to be in.” — Stephanie and Arne, San Francisco

2. Guidance and Management That Make Life Easier

Most homeowners have little experience with remodels, and the process can be daunting. But what I hear from clients over and over is that the attention that AT6 gives to guidance and project management greatly reduces the stress – with some even using the word “fun” to describe their experience!

“Jason would come up with ideas and give me three options, all the while managing my budget. He thoughtfully considered my questions and requests, then gave me his professional opinion. By guiding me through the entire process and breaking the project down into manageable pieces, he ensured I never felt overwhelmed.” — Geoff, San Francisco

“I was surprised that, despite making a lot of modifications as I went, they completely nailed the budget. We were within 5% of budget on a multi-million-dollar build. It’s hard to imagine there wouldn’t be something really hard or unanticipated to overcome in a project of this size, but it was really smooth.” — Angela, Mill Valley

3. Cultivating Repeat Customers and Enthusiastic Referrals

By the time I speak to clients, they are usually well past the remodel and able to look back on it objectively. Repeatedly, I hear that from that distance that they are still very happy with the process and working with AT6, and would do so again.

“Our experience with AT6 was so good, we ended up working on two remodels with them and are embarking on a third.” — Kate and Tanya, San Carlos

“We were hoping to get a place that we could continue to grow in, would be better for entertaining, and would make more sense spatially than what we started with. We’ve been so happy with the outcome, which is so different from what many people we know have experienced with their remodels.” — Komal and Indy, San Francisco

As a writer, I always enjoy interviews where people are motivated to speak about their experiences, and that has been absolutely consistent talking to AT6’s clients. The only regret I get from these conversations comes from inside my own head—I wish I had known about AT6 when we did our remodel!
