10 Tips to Get Your Home Winter Ready

One of the things we do daily in the remodeling profession is fix up old houses and hand our clients the keys to a beautiful new home. Fixing deferred maintenance is a cornerstone of the service we offer, so we see the damage that can happen when homes are not well maintained, and the cost involved in repairing that damage. Many of these repairs could be avoided with simple home maintenance practices. Growing Family, Growing House

The story of this house mirrors the story of our family. We moved into this two-bedroom, one-bathroom bungalow as a couple—no kids, no pets. We were aligned in wanting an older home with character, and this Craftsman had barely been touched in 50 years. There weren’t really any plans to remodel, but after a year we had our first kid and found out we had twins on the way, so we decided to remodel the kitchen and bathroom, both original, and then look for a bigger house.
